Overview

When prominent video game maker, Kabam, approached Jordi with a concept to have real life people try and emulate heroes of the Marvel universe, he jumped at the chance. Kabam's Creative Director at the time, Dillon Becker, gave Jordi a great deal of flexibility. In fact, when Jordi's team started popping dozens of pounds of popcorn for the closing shot, Dillon didn't ask any questions.

Challenges & Approach

The main challenge for this video was in making sure that there was no burnt popcorn. In all seriousness, the main challenge was in executing the closing shot. Our actor, Alex Schroeder, needed to execute a fall that looked comical yet believable. That required a lot of takes. And for better or worse, that meant having to coordinate a team for popping and cleaning up popcorn.

The result

The result was laugh out loud funny and an homage those moments of humility we all go through in life. Ultimately, you kind of feel bad for our wannabe hero.
